What is counselling and can it help me?
Counselling is an opportunity to explore aspects of your life in a safe, trusting environment with someone who will not judge or give you advice. Counselling can help you:
- Deal with transitions in your life
- Become more aware of yourself
- With relationship issues
- Explore and resolve past traumasDevelop strategies for living life more fully
- Work through patterns of behaviour that are causing you concern
We employ a range of associate counsellors who have a suite of specialist training to help you with your issues. All our counsellors are trained and experienced and work to the COSCA Code of Ethics. Those who work with young people are also qualified to COSCA's competencies for counselling children & young people
Our counselling venues
We offer counselling at two venues:
In Aberdeen at Skene House, 96 Rosemount Viaduct, Aberdeen, AB25 1AF
In Keith, Moray at The Loft, Langstane Lane West, Keith, AB55 5AF
When working with a counsellor.......
Each session you attend lasts 1 hour; you and your counsellor will discuss the frequency and times of these meetings as your work through your issues. If for any reason you have to cancel we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. If you do not attend an appointment without giving reason your counsellor will contact you. The counselling takes place in a confidential environment, information will only be passed on to others if you give consent to the sharing of information or your counsellor believes that you or another is in danger. This information will not be passed on without prior discussion with yourself unless to do so would harm another.
